The Yellow Eye Dog, where spirit meets mind, and mind meets paint brush.
My name is Melissa. Does the origination of ones name, have anything at all to do with ones destiny? I wonder..... my name is Greek, and it means "honeybee".... hmmmm ... I still wonder.
This love affair with painting all started when I majored in Art, in High School. I also had a genetic advantage, as my Mother was a self taught artist, painting decoratively, for many years. She taught many students how to use paints and a paint brush correctly. How to get that brush to hold the paint that was needed and how to coerce the brush into doing just what you wanted it to do. I remember many lessons my Mother taught me , not just how to paint, but also how to be a lady, how to mind my manners, and how to grow up being a person that is held responsible for things that I may do in my lifetime. I digress...... my love affair with painting has been warm and cold through out my lifetime. Now, I have come to rest on capturing the very essense of an animal with my paint brush...... I believe that the "eyes" are the mirror of ones soul...... the "spirit" that is inside, and that is my challenge when I begin a new portrait.... whatever it be, a dog, a cat, a horse.... sometimes humans, but my favorite subject would be, the Canine..... the ever constant companion of many a man.... and woman, and child.... they are always happy to see you, they never have a bad day, they will be there for YOU, as long as they are on this earthly plain. And when they are gone from the physical realm, they will be waiting at the Rainbow Bridge for you. Again, they are there, your constant companion.
I hope you will enjoy your visit through my Galleries.... and if I can create a portrait for you, of a very special friend, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks for stopping by, and again, enjoy......
